If God was a Coach…

Imagine God was a basketball coach. Before the game, He was bent down and He was telling His team players “Ok Schib, you’re on the hook for number 24…such and such you’re on the hook for number 10 and so on. You guard this one.” He is expecting you to guard that person. For them not to get the ball. What if when we all got to Heaven we were all “on the hook” for specific people? We got to the judgment seat of Christ and He had that conversation with us? So Julie what happened? Looks like you were on the hook for several people’s salvation…what happened when I put it on your heart multiple times to speak to your co-worker about me yet you refrained? Remember him…He told you how he was living but you were silent. Looks like we have Sally Sue here too. What happened there? You know I have a list of lost souls that I had specifically assigned to you that only YOU could reach. Only your words could penetrate their heart and mindsets. I had a plan in motion. They strayed from the church, some had never even been, and I was counting on you to bring them home to me. I gave you the opportunity and I even had the words worked out for you to say. You had the unction and the stirring but you didn’t do it. So many times you weren’t afraid to speak your mind about trivial topics but yet me? You were afraid and walked on eggshells to utter my name. I gave you breath, heartbeats, loaned you your children, you talked to me every day so all you had to do was talk to me and tell me that you had a fearful nature of scaring someone away. As you can see I’m no big scary God. I am your loving Father. I always have been. I just had some things I needed you to do and often times you made yourself too busy. I’d look down and find you on your phone wasting away the day and night when I had other plans for your life. I can show you here what my plans for you were if you’d like to take a look…

  • What if God played an alternate reel of what He had planned of our life had we done what He had intended had we not wasted away the precious time He has given us or blundered the experience He planned? I’m fairly sure there will be tears in Heaven the day of judgment but that will be the last day any tears will be shed. Then He will wipe away all of our tears…then there will be no more sorrow and no more tears for the old things will be passed away. Time is a commodity with such value that we should all take control over and heed using our resources wisely and leading others to Christ. Building up His Kingdom being our number one priority in life, not leaving one behind. So when we do get to Heaven we don’t have one on our checklist that didn’t make it. We can’t bank on Him to have bench warmers to go in and finish the game out strong to play in our spot when we foul out. Thing is we don’t really know how God has things worked out scenario wise. We must get in life and play our best game. There’s a Kingdom tournament at hand for fellow mankind. They will either be on the winning team or the losing team. Will they play for God’s golden Warriors for eternity or Satan’s fiery renegades? Eternity. No end. Forever and ever. Either bliss, beauty, and peace or terror, burning, and pain and suffering…and you could possibly help unlock the key to that door of heavenly peacefulness upon their death by talking to them. Having those deep, hard conversations. Perhaps, it’ll take a lot of them or just one. Maybe it’ll take a lot of praying too. Only God knows. But He knows your heart and intent and certainly knows the effort you put forth.
“When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.” Ezekiel 33:8 NIV
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 NIV
